Today was my mom’s birthday, so I wrote her a story about my two Betta fish, Sweet Pea & Primrose!
A Fishy Situation
By Sarah
One day, a pink fish by the name of Sweet Pea was swimming around in a mall. He was buying a gift for his girlfriend, Primrose.
“Ooooh, look!”
He pointed his fin at a freshwater pearl.
“Oh, Pea, it’s perfect!”
Primrose laced her fin into his.
Sweet Pea paid in sand dollars and they swam away. After a long, heartwarming walk, Primrose started to get weary.
“I’m hungry, Peaman!”
She sighed.
Sweet Pea saw a sign for a restaurant…. Or so he thought.
Sushi Tagorami!
The poster read. They swam into the new wing of the mall and sat down in the restaurant. It was quite classy, with minimalistic interior design in aquamarine, coral, orange, and white. They sat at a starfish table on bubble seats.
“Would you like to watch us cook your fillet mignshrimp?”
The waiter, Chondrichthyes, asked Primrose.
“Go ahead, Darling.”
Sweet Pea said. He watched her beautiful fins trail behind her, and he followed… just to be on the safe side.
They watched as a swordfish sliced through shrimp and speared it through a fire.
“It’s enchanting!”
Primrose squealed, and Sweet Pea began to daydream of himself as a swordfish, muscular, chiseled, and sharp as a tack.
“PEA!”
Primrose squealed in anguish.
Chondrichthyes was opening his wide mouth to eat her!
“AAAARGH!”
Sweet Pea yelled.
How stupid he was! Chondrichthyes was the Latin word for shark! He had learned it in fish school.
“NO ONE HURTS PRIMMIE! I AM A PINK FISH!!!!!!”
Sweet Pea roared.
He swiped Primrose out of the way and battled the great shark, leaving it bleeding in the middle of the posh restaurant. He almost grimaced at the scene he had made, but then again, it was worth it.
“Peaman, you’re my hero!”
Primrose said breathlessly.
“I thought you were going to die!”
A tear trickled down her cheek.
“Oh, Primmie, I love you!”
Sweet Pea kissed her.
“I love you too, Pea!”
Sweet Pea couldn’t believe how brave and heroic he was.
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………
“Pea? PEA!”
Primrose sighed.
Ugh. That Sweet Pea. He always thought he was a “pink fish”, macho and superb.
He slowly puffed out, waking up.
“Huh? Oh, Primmie!”
He smiled at her and embraced her.
“I had this dream where I WAS a Pink Fish, and I saved you from Chondrichthyes!”
“Whodawhadda?”
Primrose rolled her eyes.
“Whatever, Pea.”
“Oh, come on, Prim! Hey… I…. I….”
“Yeah?”
Primrose fixed her fins.
“I love you!”
Sweet Pea said breathlessly.
“Really? I… never….”
But Primrose could not complain as Sweet Pea gave her a kiss and whisked her a way to go shopping.
♥THE END! ♥

I really liked writing this, even though it was silly. My Mom really loves those fish, so I made them into a special gift for her! ♥, ♪♫sarahirene♫♪
